Site of the Week: Artheads

Yola knows that when you make a website from scratch, it can feel daunting. Artheads, a nonprofit organization using art and music to aid members of their community suffering with mental health, drug or alcohol problems, knew they needed a website, but kept putting it off expecting it to be too difficult.

Site designer Rory Manzaroli was pleasantly surprised that he could build the website he was after without “labouring over weeks of coding in complex programs like Dreamweaver.”

I really enjoyed using your Sitebuilder to make a website. It was simple, quick, effective, and having so many great templates to choose from straight away made it easy for me to pick one that fit exactly what I wanted. I had some very limited experience with web design before, but this was my first ever time I had made such a comprehensive website from scratch. Having the freedom to use a combination of simple preset widgets and actually editing the HTML myself allowed me to get things up and running fast, and then gave me the ability to tweak everything to perfection. We love the way he incorporated his groups art and music images so seamlessly into his site while still keeping the colors focused and the layout clean and easy to navigate. It achieves an artistic and uncluttered look.

The graphics used on the Contact and Media pages serve a dual function. They add a sense of whimsy and fun while calling attention to the information available making it instantly accessible to their site visitors.

This long overdue website has proven to be worth the wait as visitors to Artheads come away with a more positive impression of the organization and a deeper understanding of what they do.
