Last week we discussed the virtues of a site described as a “workhorse” but that doesn’t mean you can’t create a site full of “eye candy” using Yola’s Free Site Builder as well! Far Inspired Designs site owner, Fariha Alhassen, used bold images and lots of color to create a feast for the eyes, while still keeping her site easy to navigate.
As a graphic designer, capturing your audience at first glance is extremely important for booking clients, but holding their attention is equally important. You get an instant feel for Fariha’s aesthetic from her homepage and her unique vision for design is carried throughout the site and as you browse her portfolio.
Fariha‘s thoughts on her sitebuilding process:
The site builder was a message sent from heaven and extremely user friendly. Unlike other site builders, Yola was the most fun, because while building the site, you can actually view the progress of your work. I am more of a visual artist, and imagery is important. I’m very hands on, and cannot work on other site builders that do not allow for you to see the progress of your work, as you’re working on it.
Customers and fans alike can keep tabs on the various projects Fariha is working on by following her blog. Her latest project is the design of a stunning CD package. Her vision is fresh and unique and we wish her continued success in her design aspirations!

Hey, amazing web site..I haven’t figured out tips on how to add your webpage in my rss reader :\ where’s to link to the RSS?
Hi Daniele,
This is how to add an RSS Feed to your site:
1. Open the “Advanced” folder on the sidebar to your right.
2. Drag and drop the “RSS feed” Widget onto your page.
3. Click on “Edit” on the green widget tool bar
4. In the properties sidebar click on “edit your link”
5. A link editor will open up. You need to replace the default URL with a URL of a feed that you want. For example, pasting the following URL will create a Yahoo! News RSS feed: http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories.
6. When you are done click “OK” in the link editor and then click “apply” in the properties side bar.
An RSS feed with automatically updated links on the subject of your choice will be added to your site.
i can’t figure out where the Advanced folder on right hand side bar is . i need more help in locating this. i am just confused . The rss widget is not as eassy as finding a google map widget.
