Hello everyone
I am one of the Product Managers here at Yola, and I wanted to spend a few minutes telling you what we’ve been up to over the past few months, as well as give you a sneak peak at some of our plans for Yola features in 2010.
Over the past few months, we have added features to help streamline some of the areas around the main site builder. For example, we made some improvements to our registration process to help our users get into the site builder as quickly as possible when they sign up. And you may have noticed that it is now possible to post a message to Twitter when you update your site — we’ll soon add support for Facebook and Email as well.
We’re also in the process of improving and expanding some of our premium features. We recently launched a bunch of new Premium Styles, and soon you will be able to buy more types of domain names — as well as pay using some additional currencies we didn’t support before. You will also soon see new payment screens on Yola, which will greatly simplify the payment process and get you back to building your sites in no time.
Now, let me tell you about some of our plans for 2010. I can’t divulge too much, but we have some exciting changes planned for the site builder during the first half of next year. These changes will make our already easy-to-use site builder even better. Look for additional features, faster load times, and easier ways to get content and widgets on your site.
We are also excited about plans to build out the functionality of “My Sites” to be a more complete, one-stop area for all things related to Yola and your websites. Stay tuned for more information on that.
Let me close by saying that in my fairly short time here at Yola, I have been absolutely amazed at the passion of our users. I love reading your ideas (and even your complaints!), so please keep them coming — they are not falling on deaf ears. I am excited about what we are going to do together in 2010!

Can’t wait to test out the new features in 2010. 🙂
Primary importance-Please create drop down menus with three levels or more. Secondary importance- Also, allow us to change the title’s font, color, size, and other features of the title for example allowing people to load their own.
i cant wait!!!
i just hope you don’t limit us on site & content again.
I agree with Inayet.
I just signed up with Yola at a friend’s suggestion, and the first thing I wanted to do was change the font, color, size, etc. of my title at the top of the page. I’ve been hunting around the Yola website trying to find info on how to do thi but, evidently, you can’t adjust this; it would be nice to be able to do this.
Looking forward to constructing my website! Thanks, Yola crew.
Yola has a great system – easy to use interface and and avtually useful online help tool!
I have a number of sites hosted with yola: http://www.mortgagelasvegasnevada.com http://www.cheapesthomeownersinsurance.info and http://www.cheapest-insurance.info to name a few.
any improvements Yola makes will simply add tot heir already excellent service.
Thanks for all the comments and feedback, everyone — and happy 2010 to all!
Great site and keep up the good work! One thing I’d absolutely LOVE to see, and would be a killer feature for me (wouldn’t mind paying for the option), would be to change the size of the top banner! Many of the templates (I use the green tastelessly template) have a huge banner space, and while I can shrink my image, the banner size remains. This decreases our ability to include more content “above the folder” and eats up valuable screen real estate.
Tools like Google’s browser size drives home this fact. (http://browsersize.googlelabs.com/)
Any word if this sort of change is the works??
Thank you! JG
Hi JG. Thanks for your comment. Yes, we are planning some enhancements to the ability to edit styles. Changing headers, subheaders, colors, dimensions, etc. Stay tuned!
Thanks Yola. As a complete novice I had a great time – with help from my son – making what I think turned out to be a really nice site. Cheers. Steve
